It is a motivation to sign up for the newsletter. Some people will sign up just to get the “ethical bribe” while others will truly want to read what you have to say.

Hhmmnn…let me rephrase that. There is a moral hesitation for just any bribe, although I definitely agree to bribing customers and small children (I do that on occasion).
