Featured Pattern: The Crochango

I was on youtube the other day and came across a video from bobwilson 123 and she went on and on about this tutorial she was excited about called the Crochango. I had to check it out – it was by youtube user onevirtuouswoman.

Crochango – Crochet – Kango

Her excitement got me excited so I had to whip one up this past week. I used various colors of worsted weight wool yarn and this is how my hat turned out:

It is a little bit scunchie – which I think if I loosened up the elastic in round 49 it would solve that. I also would use a smaller hook so the hat isn’t so big. [the yarn was 2ply worsted weight 100% wool]

In her tutorial she tacks the brim to the hat which is an option I might utilize in my next version. Right now though the front of the hat is telling me I should make this into a crocodile hat. Don’t you see the eyes and wide grin?

You can download the pattern on Ravelry.

What are you inspired to make this week?
