Welcome to the 6th Crochet Business Blogging Challenge.

I started this challenge in March of 2012 when I first released Hooking for Cash – 10 Ways to Make Money with Your Crochet Blog.

It’s held twice a year in January and July.

You are free to take the challenge with us or on your own.

Week 1 (July 1 – 7) : Setting Up Shop

This first week you’ll build your shop.

This includes setting up a blog, social media accounts, an online shop, and adding tools to make running your crochet blog easier.

Topics may include adding a shopping cart to your blog, opening an Etsy shop, starting an email list and buying  hosting and domain names.

Day 4 – Choose Your Money Maker

5 Mistakes You’re Making With Your Etsy Shop And How To Fix Them

Week 2 (July 8 – 14) : Marketing and Selling

This week you’ll learn free and low-cost ways to market your products.

To start you’ll learn about your target market or ideal customers.

You’ll also learn about lead generation, branding and sales funnels.

Day 8 – Choose an Email Provider (Mailchimp, Mad Mimi, or Aweber)

Day 9- Blog Calendar

Day 10- Gift to Your Subscribers

Day 11 – Categories and Tags

Day 12- Setup Twitter (optional)

Day 13- Setup Facebook Fanpage or Google Plus Account (optional)

Day 14 – Setup Pinterest (optional)

Email Lists 101: Setup Your MailChimp Account

Week 3 (July 15 – 21) : Supplies and Inventory

You’re all set up so now you need to concentrate on making your inventory.

You will also research suppliers for yarn, shipping supplies, packaging, and anything else you’ll need to run your business.

Day 15 – Work Your Money Maker

Day 16 – Learn More About Your Business

Day 17 – Write Daily

Day 18 – Finish It – Tie up any loose ends

Day 19 – Test Your Product, Pattern, and Systems

Day 20 – Marketing Plan 

Day 21 – Add Your Marketing Plan to Your Schedule

 

Week 4 (July 22 – 28) : Business and Finances

The fourth week you’ll review your business documents.

This includes your business license, permits, budgeting, and bookkeeping.

Time management and schedules are also covered.

Day 22 – Traffic – How Are You Going to Get It?

Day 23 – Article Marketing – Try It

Day 24 – Growing Your Niche Community

Day 25 – Try a Linky, Blog Hop or Blog Tour

Day 26 – Join a Forum

Day 27 – Guest Blogging and Collaboration

Day 28 – Social Media Editorial Calendar – What will you concentrate on?

Week 5 (July 29 – 31) : Giving Back

Finally you’ll give back to your community by donating your time, your talent, and yes, even your money.

Day 29 –  Encourage Someone to Learn Crochet

Day 30 – Donate Crochet to a Charity

Day 31 – Share the 31 Days Crochet Business Blogging Challenge
