1. Halos of Hope I learned about Halos of Hope from the book Chemo Wraps and Caps (My review). In the highlighted post you can see you can gift shipping costs as well as hats. So share with your non-crochet friends.
2. Linda’s Hats for Hope Initiative the South Jersey Chapter An organization that collects winter wear like hats, scarves, gloves, etc. and shares locally (per chapter) to homeless communities.
3.Crochet for Cancer A Christian group who donates hats to those fighting cancer.
4. National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome A very special organization which educates people on shaken baby syndrome. Many times parents, sitters, and other caregivers get frustrated with a baby crying. They get angry at the baby and think shaking them will ‘cure them’ or get their attention to stop. This is very damaging and can KILL. The education teaches how to calm a crying baby as well as get help if you can’t control your anger. Crocheting purple hats for infants is a way to show your support.
5.Warm Up America A great place to donate your crocheted squares. If you are a teacher, use this as a chance to share the giving history of crocheters. Teach new stitches for each square, have a sewing gathering to make blankets, and then donate.
