10 Social Media Sites to Get You Wet

1. Twitter – share your thoughts, blog posts, quotes, tips or patterns in 140 characters or less. Participate in twitter chats or share with others with the same hashtag #crochetbusiness #blogboost

2. Facebook – start a group for your fans along with a fan page. Let them know when you have a new piece in the shop or when you publish a new blog post. Ask questions, let them share their thoughts on your creations and use their suggestions.

3. Google + – share your blog posts, videos, photos – start a blog fan page, build a community and chat in ‘hangouts’

4. Pinterest –  photo pin board – gaining in popularity but the whole copyright of photos and “who gets sued” is still up in the air. Use at your own risk. (read post on using copyrighted photos)

5. LinkedIn – connect with other business owners and artists. Try Groups, they really make the Linkedin experience Fiber Arts and Mixed Media, Hooked on Yarn, and Small Business Marketing Forum

6. StumbleUpon – social book marking site. Like or Dislike a page, stumble your followers favorites.

7. Mashable – a place to get the latest in social media (land) You can also add your own social media stories here.

8. Tumblr – a blog that you can use to promote your articles, your business, and your blog. In fact, it can be your blog. Check out Lianka’s blog of BonitaPatterns.com

9. Youtube – build a community on Youtube ex. Fresh Off Tha Hook and Teresa’s Crochet Geek. You don’t have to share crochet tutorials, you could share completed projects or tips for handmade business

10. About.Me – a personalized page for you or your business linking all social networks. The one page to send people to find out about your business or your blog. Check out Momwithahook
