I remember how excited I was when I received my first order of business cards in the mail. I had them printed via VistaPrint. They were so cute – pretty. I’m not sure how useful they were but they were cute right?
Business cards are a reflection of you and your business. How can you showcase your work in a tiny space? How do you decide what information needs to go on the card?

Today is day four in the craft show prep series by Molly of mollyeleen.wordpress.com. For more information on this series and how you can join in scroll down to the bottom of this post.
Molly added a photograph of herself when she was a child and put a crown on her head. Her business is sewing and creating with Vintage materials so it is fitting for her business.
What do you want to highlight? A special crochet piece? Your teaching crochet hook? Maybe you want to highlight your top selling crochet pattern?
I wrote an article that featured 8 different ways to use your biz card. In it I showcased a couple of designs I found on Zazzle. You can create a custom card or use one of the designs already made. (See design above)
What information should you include on your card?
- Shop URL
- Email Address
- Phone Number (local)
- Name, Business Name
- Title or Tag Line
Business Cards as Hang Tags
A great way to keep your name in your customer’s mind is to use your biz card as a hang tag Write the size, yarn, and care instructions on the back and use it on your hat or garment.
Business Cards as Coupons
Another way to make handing your business card out at events a plus for your potential customers is to add a discount code on the back. Make sure that it can only be used for a certain amount of time and that you use a tracking code so you can know what sales were generated from the event.

Handmade Swag Bags
You might consider making little treat bags or swag bags for your buyers too. These include little samples of handmade items with business cards of other sellers. I would only give these to people who actually bought something as a way to say “thank you and by the way check out these other handmade artists“.
How did you design your card? Have you ever done a craft show? Share your tips below in the comments.
