Week 1: Choosing a Service | Week 2: Setting Up Your Account (MailChimp)| Week 3: Writing a Welcome Message | Week 4: Setting Up RSS Blog Delivery | Week 5: Creating a Goodie for Subscribers | Week 6: Adding the Sign Up Form to Your Blog | Week 7: Promoting Your List
Why Do You Need to Give Something Away?
The purpose of a gift is to qualify the leads that come to your site. For example:
This blog is made for those who want to either sell crochet or use their blog to make money. Visitors want information on how to do this.
Hooking for Cash 101 teaches how to prepare your blog for making money.
Resources that will help get the target market to their goal – selling crochet or making money with their blog – are suggested throughout the course.
Some people will take action others will unsubscribe or never take action.
The subscribers who take the actions are my leads and eventually move down my sales funnel.
By offering a target specific resource you are getting rid of the traffic that doesn’t get you results.
Crochet Business Resource Examples
- Selling Crochet – coupon, free shipping, free item, limited time sale
- Selling Patterns – buy 1 get 1 free, free pattern
- Selling Yarn – free shipping, a sample card, short report on how to choose the best yarn for your project
Each of the above options cater to a specific target. By offering a limited time coupon for those who sign up for your email list, you are separating buyers from browsers. The person who enters their email and takes action on the 24-hour coupon is your ideal customer.
Your Turn: What does your customer want? Solve this problem and you’ll have your email list offer.
A couple of things to note for #31CBBC peeps: (all are optional)
- Comments are welcome and encouraged
- Visit the FB group and add your post for the day to the pinned post if you’d like to receive at least 2-comments on your post.
- Join the Crochet Business Blogger G+ Community
- Community Event: Crocheting a Business Podcast episode 7
- Add your blog url to the #31CBBC linky (not the post url) – this will help you identify who is participating
- As you are visiting other bloggers, take note of any similarities you have or complimentary projects/services you have. This is a great time to jot down the blog name and get to know the blogger behind the blog.
- Don’t stress on writing a post each day. A picture with your thoughts, a video, a top 5 list, or simply a quote on why you like crochet all counts as a post.
