- Half double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and in each stitch across. ch2 turn.
- Hdc in each stitch across. ch2 turn.
- Hdc in each stitch across. ch2. turn. [You will repeat this row for a total of 28 rows]
End off at row 28 leaving a long tail to cinch up top. Now take your ‘rectangle’ and fold it, sew the side seam closed – you will end up with a cylinder shape. Take your tapestry needle, thread the tail and weave in the top stitches. Cinch tight and sew the top closed. Make the Leaves [2]: With Green Chain 15 Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, single crochet in next chain half double crochet in next 2 chains DC in next 2 chains Treble crochet in next 2 chains DC in next 2 chains Hdc in next 2 chains sc in last 2 chains Working on opposite side Sc in first 2 stitches Hdc in next 2 stitches Dc in next 2 stitches Treble in next 2 stitches DC in next 2 stitches Hdc in next 2 stitches Sc in last 2 stitches End off leaving a long tail to sew to top of hat.
