Crochet Pattern: Hot Dog BBQ

Supplies:

e crochet hook
g crochet hook
small amounts of 4 ply worsted (cream, wheat, yellow, blue, brown, and orange)
small amounts of fiber fill stuffing
tapestry needle
stitch marker

Pattern Notes: 

blo – back look only
flo – front loop only
both – work in both loops
Open stitch – opposite side of stitch or unworked loop from previous round
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
dc2tog – double crochet 2 stitches together aka decrease
sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together aka decrease
t-ch – turning chain
[]* – repeat inside brackets

Hot Dog (g hook and redheart maroon (brown)

ch 2
1: 6 sc in second st from hook
2: 2sc in each st around (12sc)
3 -17: 1sc in each st around (18sc)
Stuff
18:  [dec sc over 2 stitches, 1sc in next st]* repeat around
Stuff some more
19: dec sc over 2 stitches until closed. Fasten off and weave in loose ends.

Bun

g hook, wheat and cream
make 1 in wheat and 1 in cream

ch 18
1: hdc in third ch from hook and in each st across, ch2 turn
2: hdc in each st across, ch2 turn
Repeat row 2 Ten more times
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

Assembly:

Lay cream and white on top of each other (rights side out)
With cream, join with a sl st to any corner, sc along side, bottom, and opposite side (do not close yet)
Stuff with a bit of stuffing but not too bulky and try working it into a bun shape.
sc the remaining side closed, sl st to the first sc made, fasten off and weave in any loose ends.

To tack down the hot dog to the bun, sew bun to dog in the center, going in and out of stuffing. Hide knots in stuffing.

Mustard: is just a piece of yarn. You can also make a chain and then sew to top of hot dog to keep it in place. 

Soda (g hook with blue yarn)

1: 6 sc in second st from hook
2: 2sc in each st around
3: [2sc in first st, 1sc in next st]* repeat around
4: [2sc in first st, 1sc in next 2 stitches]* repeat around
5: [2sc in first st, 1sc in next 3 stitches]* repeat around
6: working in blo, sc in each st around
7: sc in each st around
8-14: repeat row 7
sl st to first sc made, fasten off. weave in loose ends.

Optional: embroider the word ‘soda’ to the can; the straw is optional and shouldn’t be used with children

Top of soda can (g hook, blue and brown)

 ch 2
1: 6sc in second st from hook
2: 2sc in each st around
3: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next st]* repeat around
4: 2sc in first st, 1 sc in next 2 stitches]* repeat around
5: 2sc in first st, 1 sc in next 3 stitches]* repeat around
Fasten off.

Assembly:

Stuff the can with fiber fill stuffing.
Place the brown ‘top’ on the top of the blue can.
With blue, sl st to any stitch on the ‘can’ working through both the ‘top’ and can’
sc in each st around matching up stitches
sl st to first sc made, fasten off. Weave in any loose ends.

Cheesy Curly Puffs (make as many as you need. I made 3)

Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
