Fruit of the Spirit – Goodness Hat

I’ve got a new pattern for you all. This is part of the ‘Fruit of the Spirit’ series that I am making for Hats for Compassion.

Supplies:

  • Red Heart Eco-Ways Recycled Blend 70% Acrylic and 30% Recycled Polyester
  • 5mm H-8 crochet hook
  • Machine Wash Warm, Gentle Cycle, Tumble Dry Low

Optional:

  • Ribbon to weave in row 15

Start with a chain of 3

1: 11 hdc in 3rd chain from hook, sl st into first hdc made, ch1 {11hdc}

2: 2 hdc in each stitch around, sl st into first hdc made, ch1 {22hdc}

3: 1 hdc in first stitch, 2 hdc in next stitch, *1hdc, 2hdc in next stitch* around, sl st into first hdc made, ch1 {33hdc}

4: 1 hdc in next 2 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch, *1hdc, 1hdc, 2hdc* around, sl st into first hdc made, ch1 {44hdc}

5: 1 hdc in next 3 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch, *1hdc, 1hdc, 1hdc, 2hdc* around, sl st into first hdc made, ch1 {55hdc}

6: 1 hdc in each stitch around, sl stitch in first hdc made, ch1

7 – 14: 1 hdc in each stitch around, sl stitch in first hdc made, ch1

15: chain 3, skip 1 stitch, hdc in next stitch [chain 1, skip next stitch, 1hdc in next stitch]* around, sl st to first chain made.

16: 2 hdc in each chain space around, sl st to first hdc made, ch 1

17:  [3hdc in first stitch, skip next stitch, 1sc in next stitch]* around, sl st to first stitch made, end off, weave in loose ends.

Weave ribbon in and out of spaces and tie in a bow.
