1. Maggie’s Crochet
Maggie’s Crochet offers a partnership so you don’t lose all publishing rights to your design. They provide a tech editor and professional photo of your design as well as the PDF file. You can sell your design on your site or other site like Etsy, Craftsy or Ravelry. You are prohibited from reselling the design to other publishers or websites though. Read more here
2. Crochet Magazine
Crochet Magazine!, Crochet World Magazine, and Annie’s Attic Pattern Books are all under DRG publications. You can read the designer guidelines and submit a design based on their editorial calendar. All designs must be original and NOT submitted elsewhere. Download the Guidelines here
3. Red Heart
To submit a design idea to Red Heart visit their contact page, scroll down and under Designers you’ll find the contact email for the design department. 4. Thrifty Fun
Thrifty Fun is a website that features crafts (including crochet) as well as tips and recipes. They have a contest for those who submit original projects or tips with a chance to win $50. It’s not a guarantee but it is a place to start. Find out more
5. Amazon Kindle or Create Space
This is a self publishing option. You can offer your pattern sets or series in an eBook or in a print book via Create Space. Tips for success is to have quality photos and instructions. Leisure Arts began in 1971 and utilizes many freelance designers. Many well established designers got their start here. Rules are the same, your design needs to be original, one that is desirable by a wide audience (it sells), and you need to follow their guidelines. Find out more here.

Good to know that crochet lovers can make money out of it!! I love crochet but I am still in the basic level… I have started at least 10 different projects and I never finished one of them… the last one, a little top for my baby… I’ll stick to this one!!
