What is a Good Blog Bounce Rate?

Let’s talk about Blogging on crochetbusiness.com

How to Get a Good Blog Bounce Rate

A good blog bounce rate can increase your ad revenue and sponsorship opportunities. It is also a good way to see whether you are meeting the needs of your readers.

What is a bounce rate?  When you enable Google Analytics you are given all sorts of information about your site. One statistic is your bounce rate.

Bounce Rate tells you whether people landing on your page found what they needed or not.  It’s measured by how long they stay on your site as well as whether they visit other pages on your site.

According to Mitt Ray of Social Marketing Writing:

A good blog will have a bounce rate of less than 50%. If you have a high bounce rate, you will need to make an effort to reduce it.

How Do You Decrease Your Bounce Rate?

Bounce Rate – How to decrease it

Mitt shares a number of different ways you can keep people on your site longer. Some are:

  • Adding links to your other content
  • Adding call to actions
  • Sidebar widget with categories

Writing content that your readers are looking for is a big one.  Read the rest of Mitt Ray’s tips on his blog Social Marketing Writing.

My goal for this last quarter is to get that as close to 50% as possible. What is your bounce rate? Share with me on the Facebook fanpage.
