Grow Your Business Today in Less Than 30 Minutes

Would you like to grow your business or blog?

Of course you would.

Would you believe me if I told you that you can do this right now in under 30 minutes?

Really – I lie not.

30 Minute Business Growth Power Session

1. Visit Blogs in Your Niche

Preferably these should be blogs you have been interacting with not random blogs. Take this to mean commenting and replying to status updates on social media.

2. Write Down Possible Connections

While visiting the blogs in step 1 you want to note any type of connection you have with them. Can you write a blog post? Are they a fit for your readers? Are they a good candidate for your next podcast? Do they sell a complimentary product? Got the idea? Great.

3. Choose 3 People and Contact them

You want to do this step right away. The further you let this step go the higher the chance you won’t take action. Action is key here. Without it your business will be stagnant. A business without growth is not really a business, it is a hobby.

How I Moved Past Fear into Action

Earlier this year I participated in a list building challenge called Biztopia (Okay, so YES I do love challenges. They keep me motivated).

90 Day Biztopia Challenge

During this challenge Amethyst Mahoney encouraged participants to connect with 3 people each day. We had to either set up a partnership, a guest blog post, or a podcast interview.

At first I was super scared. “What do I have to offer?” was the negative thought that took residence in my head.

I sat up straight, ignored my negative mantras and set out to reach 3 people each day.

Results?

I connected with some really nice people and businesses. Remember the QR Stone I introduced? That was a result of the challenge.

I have continue to connect with people because I hear Amethyst in the back of my mind, “you need to be connecting with people daily to grow your business”.

  1. I LOVE it. What a great way to elaborate on what you do to collaborate with other business’. Nicole (and Maggie her DGY helper) are fantastic gals and so fun to work with! Thank you very much for the mentions! I’m very excited to see my new designs too, lol.

I also want to say that I think collaboration is the most important thing, us as business owners, can do. You and I have spoken on this subject in length. I know my business has grown tremendously due mostly to working with other blogs, yarn companies and pattern directories.

You bring so much helpful information to the crochet community. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!!

    • Lorene, thank you for that. I keep pushing myself to do the things I’m scared to do. Seeing the results of taking action to reach my goals excites me and pushes me to do more.

Collaboration and Support of other business owners is definitely an untapped resource in the crochet community. You, Laurie Wheeler, and Sede are about to change that. :)

  2. Great tips! I will be utilizing these in the VERY near future :)
    Thanks!

    • Jen, hopefully they help you grow you community. I know you are very interactive on your blog so I’m sure you will have little difficulty approaching partners.

  3. I try to interact and respond to every comment I receive on all social media sites – for every post I share on Google+ I try to comment and interact with at least 1 new post on the page/community that I have shared to – I help where I can – offer assistance/lookups when possible and try to be consistent.

I know traffic is important – but I think ‘return’ traffic is more valuable :)

Building a relationship with your visitors is the key I think – an honest relationship –

Thanks for a great month :)

    • Rhondda, my thoughts exactly. Traffic in numbers is one thing but traffic with people who really engage with you and want to read your blog is what you should be aiming for. You do a lovely job at interacting.

I try and do that too – one comment or two before I share. I don’t like it when people drop links and leave and no value to the community, What’s the point in that? How is that helping anyone?

Thank you so much for joining me during the challenge.

  4. thank you for sharing these tips, I’m just a newbie and have a long way to go (with not much time to dedicate…), but I’ll try to keep the focus and follow your suggestions! I’m taking notes… now I will need to take actions!

    • Tatsmary, you work with the time you have available. If that happens to be 1 hour a day then work within that boundary. Being involved in the crochet blog linky is a great way to build your crochet community. It is after all how I came to know you. :)
