Forums to Chat About Crochet
Forums are little hangouts online where a group of like-minded people can talk about what interests them. There are as many forums as there are people.
6 Crochet and Handmade Forums to Check out:
1. Hookey
Created by Laura of the Crochet Liberation Front it is a crochet only forum. Share your patterns, your finished objects and business tips.
2. Crochet Talk
A young forum but one I enjoy hanging out on. They’re having their first gathering in 2014.
3. HAF (HandmadeArtistsForum)
I don’t take part here nearly as much as I should but for those who want an alternative to the Etsy or Artfire they also have shops to sell handmade items. The folks run this are handmade artists themselves and have lots of great advice for sellers and buyers.
4. CrochetVille
One of the first crochet forums I was introduced to. You can asked any crochet related question and get an answer fairly quickly. They even offer classes. Lots of free patterns and if you like you can take part in being a pattern tester. Read the review I did on their Crochet Mastermind.
5. CrochetMe
A crochet community forum similar to the ones above with interweave patterns, crochetMe member patterns and of course great articles and conversation.
6. Ravelry
This is a mixed fiber arts forum with some crocheters. I find most people to be knitters as it started as a knitters community. (owner is a knitter) It is the number one source for all things patterns, yarn, knitting and crochet. A fun place to hang. You do need to sign up for a membership.
Today’s Assignment:
Visit a couple of the forums above or one you frequent and interact with others. Try and be real by adding legitimate information to the conversation.
There’s nothing worse than someone who pops into a message forum to spam their blog or shop and just as quickly leaves never to be heard from again.
