Get Your Comment On
I did a blog internship in 2010 and one of things I learned was to comment on 3 – 5 blogs a day. Sounds simple enough but I still find it difficult to find the time to do this.
It must be a priority because it is through commenting on others blogs that you get to know the people in your community. Most people will at least visit your blog back and some will even take the time to comment back.
How to Comment on Crochet Blogs:
First I recommend printing out the commentingworks-hookingforcash-worksheet. This is a simple way to record the blogs you want to comment on, on a regular basis. (inspired by Smart Blogging Skills which is the class I took as an intern.)
It is also a handy way to track the blogs you’ve commented on. Try and visit at least 3 – 5 new blogs each week in addition to commenting on 3 – 5 blogs each day.
Now, don’t let the minimum 3 – 5 get in your way. If you feel like you can fit in more blogs go right ahead. Make sure though that you are leaving useful comments and not just the ‘great post’ type of comment.
Tips to a Great Comment:
- Read the post
- Pick a point to highlight, disagree with, or add to
- Do not leave links in the comment unless asked
Today’s Assignment:
Put a list of crochet blogs you visit often together. I like to keep a running log of crochet blogs in my sidebar. This way I know who has a new post and I pick a couple each day to comment on. Go Comment.
