Secret Agent Blogger – Analytics
Today your mission is to analyze your blogs’ traffic. Head on over to Google Analytics or your blogs statistics and check out where your traffic is coming from.
What are your readers reading?
How long are they staying?
Okay, so you’re on Google Analytics, so what? You don’t know what all this stuff means so how will it help you?
Ms. Illene, remember I told you to subscribe to her, has a simple explanation on her blog.
Google Analytics Just for Bloggers (don’t you just love her?)
Numbers you will be keeping track of for this series are:
- Daily Visits
- Average Time on Site/Bounce Rate
- Traffic Type
- Source
- Keywords used to find your blog
If you have statistics, write these down in your journal. You will come back to these at the end of this series and compare your traffic to your goal.
When you setup your Google Analytics be sure to track the traffic coming in to your About Me page, Your Shop (item specific), Your newsletter page, or even a specific post on your blog.
Be specific for this series so you can really track your efforts – you’ll be promoting that page (About Me) throughout this series.
I’ll be tracking my ‘About Me’ page and the ‘Buy‘ page of this blog as my ‘Hooking Corner’ is affiliate marketing. My goal for this series is to drive traffic to my eBook page as well as get affiliates who will help market my eBook.
