Learning Crochet: The Bow Ties Stitch

 

This stitch is made in multiple of 13 + 1ch. This means that for each stitch pattern you’ll need to chain 13 plus 1 turning chain. If you want to make the sample just chain 26 plus 1 for a total of 27. This makes 2 rows of bow ties. Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn Row 2: sc in first 3 stitches, ch8, skip next 7 stitches, sc in next 6 stitches, ch8, skip next 7 stitches and sc in last 3 stitches, ch1 turn Row 3: sc in first 3 stitches, ch8, sc in next 6 stitches, ch8, sc in last 3 stitches, ch1 turn Row 4: repeat row 3 Row 5: sc in first 3 stitches, ch3, sl st around all loops (chain 8 loops), ch3, sc in next 6 stitches, ch3, sl st around final loops, ch3, sc in last 3 stitches, ch1 turn Row 6: sc in first 3 stitches, ch8, sc in next 6 stitches, ch8, sc in last 3 stitches Repeat rows 3 – 6 until it is as long as you like. Once it is as long as you like, repeat rows 3 – 5 one final time and then follow the pattern below. (ch1 turn) Row ?: sc in first 3 stitches, ch7, sc in next 6 stitches, ch 7, sc in last 3 stitches, ch1 turn Final Row: sc in each stitch and chain across. Finish off.
