I just finished up week 5 of the 52 week Squidoo challenge where I’m making 1 lens a week on crochet product reviews. The latest being ‘Crocodile Stitch Fashions‘ by Lianka Azulay. I reviewed the book which offers a great step by step tutorial on how to make the crocodile stitch with a picture tutorial along with 8 different patterns.

Buy Crocodile Stitch Fashions

If you purchase the book via Amazon you’ll save 32% but even without the discount you’ll still be saving because at $5.00/pattern x 8 patterns = $40 the retail price of $14.95 still saves you $25.00. The book also includes a stitch guide and metric chart in the back. You can take a peek inside the book by visiting Amazon where you can really see the pictorial which makes this book a great resource for your crochet library.

Here is a little slide show I made for it:

Since writing about the crocodile stitch back in 2011 [crocodile stitch beanie and crocodile stitch talk]  when I finally jumped in on all the fan fare about it and bought my first pattern from BonitaPatterns.Etsy.com Lianka has really blossomed in her business. She published a booklet with Annies Attic, made a crocodile stitch wedding dress in just 3 weeks, modeled the dress in a fashion show at Crochet Guild Conference, and just released an adorable pattern for baby booties inspired by the wee one she is now carrying.

As more and more people learn to do this unique stitch more patterns are available. If you search on Etsy for crocodile stitch patterns you’ll find patterns for an owl applique, a diaper cover, a head band and a choker. You can even find digital patterns for the Kindle on Amazon such as the Crocodile Matinee Pattern by ShiFio’s Patterns or the White Crocodile Purse by Darlisa Riggs.

I just bought BonitaPatterns.com bootie and earflap hat and can’t wait to get some yarn that will do both patterns justice.

What have you made with this stitch?
