Learning Crochet: The Granny Square

This entry is part 7 of 19 in the series Learning Crochet

Happy 2012! I am excited to see the unfolding of this next 365 days. What about you? Any crochet goals this year?

This year I embark on a bit of a scary journey as I start to teach crochet locally. I’ve always been a bit shy but when it comes to crochet I have a natural enthusiasm which I’m hoping to capitalize on to help me teach.

Today’s Crochet with Mom will be gearing up for the Granny Square Exchange in March. Remember you can sign up now – and make the squares before mailing them out in March. [p.s. I'll be hosting this over on swap-bot.com]

HsShulte wrote a Squidoo article on How to Crochet Granny Squares. It includes a chart, written instructions and a video tutorial. She also gives a number of ideas on what you could make with the completed squares. There’s even a tutorial on how to join the squares once you are done.

P.S. Join MacsCrochet for the Granny-a-Day project

This square was done with redheart and an unknown yarn. Using up all the scraps to make room for some yummy yarn.
