Learning Crochet: The Russian Join

Today I received a visit from a reader in Turkey. She is making the Puff Stitch Cupcake.

I had to visit her site to check out her crochet items and found a rather interesting way to change colors. Although it is from a knitting magazine it can be used for crochet as well.

Russian Joint:

  1. You take the working yarn and put it into the eye of the needle.
  2. Next you split the yarn with the needle making a loop.
  3. Add the new color in the loop
  4. Split the new color yarn with the needle
  5. Twist the yarn and you are done.

I am sure I confused you with my words so be sure to check out the visual on her site for the Russian Joint. {Note – that link is no longer valid. Here is a video tutorial from knitting help.}
