Learning Crochet Video: Slip Stitch

How to Make a Slip Stitch (less than 2 minutes)

A slip stitch is the very first thing you learn in crochet because it is how you attach the yarn to your hook. Here is a video tutorial that Teresa aka Crochet Geek did.

In this tutorial she shows you how to make a crochet slip stitch when you already have your piece in progress. Just put your hook in the chain/stitch indicated in your pattern, yarn over, pull up loop through working chain plus the loop on your hook. This is one motion.

Once you learn how to make the slip stitch and are comfortable with it, try Eva’s Ribs Scarf - Slip Stitch Crochet 101. This pattern is available free on Ravelry.com by Vashti Braha.
