Intermediate
Size: 13″ at widest point. Fits girl’s sizes 5 to 10
Materials: DMC Baroque, 3 oz. skeins, 2 skeins White. Steel crochet hook size 7 or size required to obtain gauge, 2 buttons, 1/2″ diameter.
Gauge: 10sc=1″; 8sc rows = 1″
Round 1:
Starting at center, ch 9, join with sl st to form a ring.
Round 2:
Work 18sc in ring, join with sl st in first sc.
Round 3:
Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 4dc in same st as joining, drop lp from hook, insert hook in top of ch3 and in dropped lp, yo and through 2 lps on hook – first popcorn (PC) made; (ch2, skip 1 sc, 5dc in next sc, drop lp, insert hook in first of these dc, close PC as before) 8times, ch2, sl st in top of first PC – 9PC
Round 4:
ch5 (counts as 1 dc and 2ch), skip PC, dc in next ch2sp, *ch2, 1dc in top of PC, ch2, dc in ch2 space; repeat from * around, join in 3rd ch of ch5 – 18dc.
Round 5:
Ch1, 2sc in same st as joining, 1 sc in ch2sp, *3sc in next dc, 1 sc in next ch2 space; repeat from * around, join in ch1.
Round 6:
Ch1, working in back lps only, 3sc in next sc, *sc in next 3sc, 3sc in center st of 3sc group; repeat from *, end 2sc; do not join, Mark beg of rounds.
Rounds 7-17:
Sc in back lp of eac sc, working 3sc in center st of each 3sc group (corner), join last round with sl st – 25sc between center sc at corners. Mark the 13th (center) sc between corners around.
Round 18:
Sl st over 12sts, 5sc in next st, *ch 4, folding next point with wrong sides tog, skip point, work 5 sc in next marked st between points; repeat from * around, sl st in first ch – 18ch 4 sps behind 18 points.
Round 19:
Turn to right side, *(sc in next 5sc, 4sc in next ch 4sp) twice, sc in next 2sc, 3sc in next sc (corner), sc in 2sc, 4sc in ch4sp; repeat from * 5 times more, join – 6 corners, 28sc each side between center corner sts
Rounds 20 – 24:
Mark beg of rnds. Sc in back lp of each sc, working 3 sc in center sc at corners – 38sc between center corner sts after round 24.
Round 25:
Sl st in back lps to center st at corner, ch 4 (counts as 1 dc and 1ch), dc in back lp of same sc, *sk 2sc, (dc in back lp of next sc, ch1, sk 1sc) across to next corner, (dc, ch1) twice in corner st; repeat from * around to first corner, sl st in 3rd ch of ch 4 – 20 dc each side.
Round 26:
Sl st in next sp, ch 4, dc in same sp, (ch 1, dc) in each sp around, working (dc, ch 1) twice in each corner sp, join.
Round 27:
Ch1, work 2sc in corner, *sc in next dc, sc in next sp; repeat from * around working 3sc in corner sps – 43 sc between center sc’s at corners.
Round 28:
Working in back lps only, sc in next st, *3sc in corner st, sc in next 3sc, (5hdc in next sc, drop lp from hook, insert hook in first hdc and in dropped lp, yo and through 2 lps – PC made; sc in next 5sc) 6 times, PC in next sc, sc in next 3sc; repeat from * around, end 2sc.
Round 29:
Working in back lps only, sc in each sc and PC, 3sc in center st at each corner.
Round 30:
Working in back lps only, sl st to corner st, *3 sc in corner st, sc in next 2 sc, (PC in next sc, sc in next 5 sc) 7 times, PC in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; repeat from * around to first corner.
Round 31:
Repeat rnd 29
Round 32:
ch 4, *skip 1 st, dc in next st, ch1; repeat from * working (dc, ch1) twice in each corner st.

Round 34:
Repeat rnd 27 working 57 sc between corners.
Round 35:
Working in back lps only, sl st to corner, *3 sc in corner st, sc in next 4 sc, (PC in next sc, sc in next 5sc) 8 times, PC in next st, sc in 4 sc; repeat from * around to first corner

Round 37:
Working in back lps only, sl st to corner, *3 sc in corner, sc in 3sc, (PC in next sc, sc 5sc) 9 times, PC in next sc, sc in 3 sc; repeat from * around to first corner.
Round 39:
Work as for Rnd 30 making 11 PC each side.
Round 41:
Repeat Rnd 32. Cut yarn.
STRAPS:
Make 2, Ch 11
Row 1:
Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across – 10sc
Row 2:
Ch 1, turn, sc in eac sc, Repeat Row 2 until 16″ from beg or length to it from side points to shoulder points, crossing at center back. DEC 1 sc each end every row until 6sts remain.
Next Row:
Ch1, turn, sc in first sc, ch 6, sc in last sc
Last Row:
Ch1, turn, sc in next sc, 6sc in ch for buttonloop; sc in last sc. Cut yarn.
FINISHING:
Press bib to flatten points. Sew straps to point at each side. Sew a button to bib at each point at upper front. Wear bib tucked in at front waist.
