It’s been nearly a year since I spotted a crochet blog. Well, not really but it has been that long since I shared one on this blog.
Today I’d like to introduce you to Rhelena of CrochetnCrafts.com.
I first met Rhelena on Hubpages.com. I am an article marketer and ghost writer so I often submit articles for clients. It was her article on How to Design Your Own Crochet Patterns that caught my attention.
Since then I’ve emailed her, tested a few of her patterns, chatted with her on social media and she even participated in the 31 Days of Crochet Business Blogging challenge earlier this year.
Rhelena lost her job in 2008 and is also dealing with health problems so in order to make some extra cash she started monetizing her crochet pattern website. She actually has more than one website filled with all sorts of crochet sweets.
CrochetnCrafts is filled with all her designs and tutorials. Here are a few:

The first (left) I would like to share with you is her tutorial on the Cross-Over Long Double Crochet Stitch. I was first introduced to this stitch by Rhelena as I tested a pattern which used this stitch.
In the middle is a tutorial on how to crochet around a CD. Remember the days when AOL would send out CD’s for their service? This is a great way to recycle those and any other old CD’s you have.
I’m thinking if you make them in graduated colors you can make a mobile to hang in your room or even outside.
Finally, to the right is the Laundry Bag Pattern which I tested for her. I use this bag to carry my yarn supplies on long trips.
You will find all sorts of patterns to try. A few of my favorites are:
- Puff Stitch Mug Cozy
- Baby Shell Hat
- Two-toned Baby Bib
- Cross-Over Long DC Pouch
