Q: How Do I Send My Blog RSS via Email?
This screencast is for Mailchimp but can easily be applied to a number email services. Mailchimp (http://mailchimp.com) is a registered trademark and images, logos, and website belongs to them.
How to Setup a RSS Campaign in MailChimp in 13 Easy Steps
- Sign into MailChimp or Open an Account
- Select the arrow by the Create a Campaign Button (right side of screen)
- Select RSS driven campaign
- Grab the link to your RSS feed. Paste it into the text box. Tip: this can be the RSS feed to your etsy shop, your articles on Squidoo, your blog, etc..
- Select when you want it delivered. (daily, weekly, or monthly) Choose the time you want it delivered.
- Click Next to choose the list you want to send it to.
- Name your email (this is for your reference so name it something like Blog rss)
- Add tracking, social media, and anything else you want to help you monitor the results of your campaign.
- Click Next. Now you get to design your email template. If this is your first time, select Predesigned templates. Browse and select one you like.
- Add your logo or banner, write a personal note to your subscribers, add links to your social profiles, insert any ads or additional tips or resources you want to send your subscribers.
- Click next and double check the text version of your email. Did the links transfer over right? Does the text break up?
- Click next and confirm your new campaign. Make sure everything is looking as it should, preview it in a new window, send yourself a test, and prepare it for mobile delivery. You’ll find this in the upper right corner under “Preview and Test”.
- Ready? Click Start. (located on the bottom right) A popup will appear double checking that you really want to start this campaign. Select Start Campaign.
You are Done! Congratulations you just set up your easy mailing list with automatic updates of your blog to your fans.
If at any time you need to send them a quick email you just need to start a new campaign or shoot them a quick text based email.
Mailchimp is very user-friendly and has a number of eBooks and Webinars which will guide you into building a strong and powerfully successful email list for your business or blog.
Want to integrate your Etsy shop with Mailchimp? It’s easy with CraftMonkey. I did a little Tidbit about this application last week.
