What’s Crochet Business Blog All About?

The theme for Crochet Business Blog this year is to move your business forward. I chose this theme because I feel like many people are in a rut. (including me) You know, listing things on Etsy, hoping for a sale, blogging here and there and really just running around in circles not really going anywhere.

You might be very busy but are you getting any where in your business?

How much did you earn last year? Are you satisfied with that? Yeah, I’m not where I want to be. I know I can do better but the clutter has to get out of the way.

I just completed the 31 Days of Crochet Business Blogging Challenge which helped many of you jump start your year. I pray those who participated learned something to help them accomplish their goals.

One specific goal of the this blog is to encourage connection in the crochet business (blogging) community. This can be connecting you with each other and/or connecting you with the right people to get the job done – whether that be starting and running an Etsy shop, teaching locally, or blogging.

I’ve been very honest with you about my background. I currently do not sell crochet. I jot a pattern down here and there but I’m am not a designer. I teach people to crochet but again it is not my business. I do write. Writing is where my income comes from. This blog is the joining of my two passions, crochet and writing.

I know what it is like to want to earn money for your family. I know what it is like to think you can do that with crochet. It is possible. Believe it. People are doing it everyday. I know many of you are on tight incomes while others have capital to draw from. I think that if I had a regular income that I could count on I may return to selling crochet but right now that is not the case.

Instead of groping in the dark at this thing or that thing, I hope to lead you to the resources and people that can get you to your goal quicker. You have enough on your plate, the less time and money you waste the better.

What Can You Expect From Me

I’ll share successful crochet businesses each Friday. These ladies and gentlemen are doing what you dream of – earning a decent income with their crochet. How are they doing it? Read their stories, learn what they are doing and take action.

I’ll share what I know about affiliate marketing but specifically for you the crochet blogger. This will include highlighting companies that you can partner with like Craftsy and Annie’s Attic. I don’t make thousands of dollars doing this so if that is your goal you’ll have to find someone else. One good place to start is Tanya over on Blogelina.com (aff) – she made $30,000 her first year. Find out how she did it and take Action.

I will write more on the topics you are seeking answers to. Many people ask questions on the Facebook page and in the FB group. I plan on researching the answers to these questions and finding people who can answer them for you.

Hooking for Cash was the reason I purchased this domain name. It is a starting point and I will be writing more on each of the topics in that eBook this year. How exactly do you make money with your crochet blog? I gave you the ideas now I’ll be diving into the details on how to take action on those ideas.

Stay tuned because as I grow so will this blog.

  1. Very good post Sara! You are right, it’s so good to see that you have married your two loves of writing and crochet to help others develop their blogs. I’m working on doing the same with marketing and crochet! When a path, any path, is clear in ones mind, the possibilities are endless. You are doing a great job positioning yourself with helping crochet bloggers. Thank you!
