Thank Your Readers for Subscribing

On day 8 you were asked to make your email list for your crochet blog. As an incentive to get people to sign up or simply as a thank you, you need to dangle something in front of them.   Most people offer something to their subscribers – it can be an eBook, a checklist, an mp3 webinar or even a free crochet pattern. I offer a free eCourse (which you are taking) as well as a couple of reports like the affiliate programs for crochet bloggers and a free crochet pattern. This ‘carrot’ if you will is called an ethical bribe. It’s simply a freebie or gift that you give your subscribers as a thank you for signing up to your list. You’ll add this to your signup form and then of course include a link to the download in your Thank You – Confirmation email.

Examples of Freeware from My blogs:

  • 365 Crochet Blog Topics

  • 25 Free Crochet Patterns with rights to sell finished object

Today’s Assignment:

Create a short report, worksheet, a free pattern, podcast or video that you can give away to your list subscribers. Add this to your site right by your email sign up form. I can help you create something. Just contact me for a quote.

See you tomorrow for lesson 11,

Comments

  1. I have a few free patterns in my website that can be downloaded as pdf’s. Does that count? Or do I need to make a freebie that is only for my subscribers?

    • Rebeckah, This ‘goody’ is especially for your subscribers. You can take your free patterns, put it into an ebook format and offer it to your readers if you think that will appeal to them. :)
