Top 7 Crochet Patterns to Beat the Heat

It’s starting to get hot here. Crocheting is not only my hobby it is my way of life. If I’m not crocheting I’m thinking of something to crochet. The summer time isn’t really the best time to crochet blankets, hats, gloves or sweaters so I have to think of new and creative things to make.
Erena Crochet Studio on Etsy

Erena Crochet Studio on Etsy has a really cute bikinicover-up. It includes diagrams, pictures and written instructions.

dcrochet
Dcrochet has a super nice bikini and sarong for those long days at the pool or beach. Just tie the sarong around your waist. Her example is multi-colored but you could easily make in one solid color. I’m thinking that maybe Annies Bamboo thread would be perfect for this.
Adalia Tank top Interweave

Interweave has a lovely tank top – Adalia Tank Top by Marikka Hughes that reminds of music festivals when girls used to dress in long flowing skirts and apron tops. The back razor back, lace like, motifs add a feminine touch.

Ozark Nomad on Etsy

OzarkNomad on Etsy has a simple barefoot sandal pattern. The color in her sample is a graduated purple, which really catches my eye. She uses DMC floss for her sandals and I can just imagine all the color combinations I could make.$4.00

TheCrochetFoyer -Plarn Beach Bag

The Crochet Foyer has a really great way to use up all those plastic grocery bags. It’s called the Cutest Plarn Grocery/Beach Bag. It uses 200 plastic bags so you might have to ask friends, neighbors and family members to chip in. It’s a great little bag and she adds a couple of rows of ribbon to give it the cute touch.

KTB Designs on Etsy

KTB Designs has a lot of patterns on my wish list. I’m thinking that I’m going to need some beach toys for the summer. I can’t get to the water every day so maybe if I crochet this cute set of beach toys which includes my SPF 15 sunscreen, I can at least pretend I’m at the beach.

CraftPassion.com

CraftPassion has the perfect sun hat pattern to protect my fair Irish skin when I’m out and about in the sun. It uses a 2 layer crochet technique that I haven’t tried before so I’m excited about a challenge. It also uses rafia which is a material I’ve never crocheted with before. Yay, I’m a happy girl.
