Alerts: Attention Crochet Bloggers
Wouldn’t it be nice to know when others were talking about you? Outside of bugging everyone out in cyberspace what can you do? Google Alerts is a cool tool that I learned about while taking a 31 Days to Build a Better Blog course. Before this course I never heard of this. Have you?
Basically, Google Alerts lets you know when certain topics are blogged about or written about in the news or via video or podcast. Now, this isn’t only for keeping track of the gossip people are saying about you – NO – it is a clever way to keep up with news on your money maker. For me that money maker is affiliate marketing as it refers to my eBook. For you it might be your particular crochet pattern or crochet project.
How Do I Use Google Alerts?
- I keep track of ‘crochet news’ and then pin this news to my ‘Crochet in the News’ board.
- I keep track of ‘crochet blogs’ because I like to know when new blogs come on the scene so that I can comment on new blog posts.
- I also keep track of ‘momwithahook’ because I can comment in a timely manner if someone mentions me
- I use alerts for other things too but they don’t apply to this series.
