Crochet Pattern: Apple

Supplies:

crochet hook g
red yarn
small pieces of green yarn
fiber fill stuffing
tapestry needle for sewing
stitch marker

Pattern Notes:

blo – back look only
flo – front loop only
both – work in both loops

Open stitch – opposite side of stitch or unworked loop from previous round
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
dc2tog – double crochet 2 stitches together aka decrease
sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together aka decrease
t-ch – turning chain
[]* – repeat inside brackets

Apple (red yarn and g hook)

ch2
1: 6sc in first ch
2: 2sc in each st around (12sc)
3: [1sc in first st, 2sc in next st ]* repeat around (18sc)
4: [1sc in first 2 stitches, 2 sc in next st]* repeat around (24sc)
5: [1sc in first 3 stitches, 2sc in next st]* repeat around (30sc)
6: [1sc in first 4 stitches, sc in next st]* repeat around (36sc)
7: [1sc in first 5 stitches, sc in next st]* repeat around (42sc)
8: 1sc in each stitch around (42sc)
9: [1sc dec over first 2 stitches, 1sc in next 5 stitches]* repeat around
10: 1sc in each stitch around
11: [1sc dec over first 2 stitches, 1 sc in next 4 stitches]* repeat around
12 – 15: 1sc in each stitch around
16: [1sc dec over first 2 stitches, 1sc in next 3 stitches]* repeat around
17: 1sc in each stitch around
18: [1sc dec over first 2 stitches, 1sc in next 2 stitches]* repeat around
19: 1sc in each stitch around

Stuff with fiber fill

20: [1sc dec over first 2 stitches, 1sc in next stitch]* repeat around
Finish off leaving a long tail.

Finishing:

Weave in and out of last row to close top of apple. Stick needle in the middle of apple and up through the top then around a stitch pulling slightly to give the apply shape. Pull yarn back down through the apple bottom and weave in ends.

Leaf:

ch3
dc in 3rd ch from hook.
fasten off.
leave a long tail for sewing to apple.
Weave in loose ends.
