Writing Prompt: Today you will be making a guest blog schedule and scheduling guest bloggers. Write a post soliciting guest bloggers. Be specific in what you want.

What is My Goal?

My goal for Crochet Business Blog is to have 1 crochet business interview per week. I will be happy with 1 per month but ultimately by

the end of 2013 I want to schedule 1 interview per week for a total of 52 interviews. To reach this goal I will need to get the word out about this opportunity to my target market which is crochet business owners.

How Will I Reach My Goal?

• Make a video highlighting some of the interviews I’ve already made with a call to action so others can sign up to be interviewed.
• Add a permanent call in my newsletter
• Post to twitter and Facebook about the interview opportunity
• Make a graphic for Pinterest featuring past interviews
• Contact various publications with article proposals with a link to the interview application in the biography at the end of the article.

How Will I Know I Reached My Goal?

• Consistent application submissions monthly
• I need at least 4 applicants per month to reach this goal

Guest Blogging Requirements to Consider

• Original content that has not been published anywhere online
• Exclusive content meaning that it can’t be published elsewhere
• 250 – 500 words
• Grammatically sound
• Not self-promotional
• Beneficial to my readers
• Matches the goals and focus of my crochet blog

How to Get Guest Bloggers?

• Make a form (Google forms)
• Add the form to your blog
• Tell your readers you are accepting guest authors

What to Include in a Guest Post

• Easy to follow steps (Top 5, 3 Most, 5 of the Best)
• Your best work
• Check out the top posts of the site you’ll be writing for. Which posts got the most comments? Write on that subject.
• Biography with a link to your opt-in email list or Rss subscribe list.
