Crocheting My Life Back Update 2

I haven’t done an update on this project for over a month. I was debating about transferring it to this blog from my personal one and

crocheting my life back

Crocheting My Life Back – Sara

obviously I did. For those who are new to the project you can read about it here. This is my introduction, my first update and here is my second update.

The Basics

I’m joining Crochet by Cris as she works to get her health under control. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while but keep getting sidetracked.

Cris is crocheting a granny square for each pound she loses. I am crocheting a heart for each day I stay focused or don’t eat when my stomach isn’t growling. So far, I’ve yet to crochet a heart.

Almost but No Success

Today I almost succeeded at listening to my body’s signals but around dinner time the boys wanted Tacos. I didn’t even order because I wasn’t hungry yet.

Without even thinking I ate half a mexican pizza when it was offered to me. It wasn’t until after I inhaled the thing that I remembered my intention. I really need to find a way to focus my mind off of food.

Statistics:

  • Beginning Weight: 327 lbs
  • Weekly Weight Loss/Weight Gain: 0
  • Total Weight Loss/Weight Gain: 0
  • Hearts Allowed: 0
  • Hearts Made: 0

Plan for Next Week

  1. I will make a chart for hourly focus
  2. I will print up some affirmations and tape them around the house as reminders

Do you always eat when hungry? Any tips you can share with me? Comment Below.

  1. You can do it! You’ll be crocheting hearts before you know it!
One of my favorite tricks…I keep a bowl of washed, ready to eat produce on hand. I’ve found if I have fruits and veggies washed and at easy access I am much more likely to actually eat them :) and less likely to grab junk food.

    • That is a great tip. In 2009 I did a juice fast for 21 days and it really helped me stay focused. I might consider doing that again just to jump start myself. Thank you Dortha for stopping by.

  2. Water instead of anything else. Drink water when you think you’re hungry, at least 8oz. then, if you still feel hungry, eat fruits and veggies. However, I do allow myself a bowl of chips and a soda once or twice a week. ;)

    • Water I used to do that way back in my early twenties. I need to do that again instead of coffee which is what I’ve been doing. Fruits and Veggies definitely. Thanks for the tips Sedie. I just finished watching Fat, Sick and Nearly dead and am about to do a juice fast so I’m hoping that will restart me.
