Commenting on blogs is hard work – it takes time and energy but its rewards are numerable. You might not think that you have time to visit many blogs but setting the goal to just 2 or 3 each day isn’t going take you more than 15 minutes. You can do that right?
I know a lady who comments on nearly 100 blogs a day – totally insane but something that really drove traffic to her site.
How to Leave a Comment in 5 Easy Steps
1. Schedule the Time
Mark out time during the day so you can really visit the blogs, read them, and comment
2. Follow the List
I have a list of crochet blogs I follow in a document. I usually go down this list each day and find a couple of blogs to interact with. (see commenting works worksheet)
3. Give a worthy comment
Don’t just say nice post or cool project and leave. Take the time to read the post, find one thing to point out or even add to the conversation if you can. If you come across a blog and you just can’t think of anything to write, pass it and go to the next blog on your list.
4. Use your Real Information -
Give your real name – not your business name and an email address you use often. If the blog has comment luv leave a link. Also, subscribe to the comments so you can reply when the blog owner responds. The purpose of commenting is engagement not drive by commenting.
5. Return to the Blog
If additional comments have been added to the conversation or the blog owner replied to your comment, return and leave additional information. Engagement is the key to a blog blessed with lots of comments. (signing up for comments will help you with this.)
Speaking of comments, leave one below and let me know what you think about this post.
It’s easy just follow these simple steps:
- scroll down
- click in the text box
- write your comment
- select ‘comment as’
- select publish
I read and reply to all comments.
Today’s Assignment:
Read the post for today – Get Your Comment On. Gather a list of crochet blogs you follow and set some time each day to visit and comment on 2 – 5 each day.

mostly i forget to set time for the commenting and reading.
