How is the CBB Challenge Going For You?

A Look At My Latest Crochet Projects:

First is the little purse I made from a new ‘to me’ blog called Crafts n’ Things. This pattern is newbie friendly and uses double strands of yarn. It uses a big ‘N’ crochet hook so it works up pretty quickly. The little owl applique I found on Ravelry by designer Ruth Soto.

Because two strands were used it is pretty sturdy so I did not add a liner.

I’m taking a break today from ‘business and teaching’ and blogging just for enjoyment. Remember that?

Way back when I started blogging- 2007 – that is what I did. I blogged what I crocheted and really didn’t care who saw it. I was always stoked when someone commented because it meant there was someone else out there who loved crochet as much as I do. 

I also started on my Leisure Art project as I’ll be doing a sponsored post for them soon. The yarn used in this pattern is Homespun which was $5.99USD per skein. The pattern calls for 3-skeins so the project is about $18.

I chose a color I enjoy – it’s called Delft but I think it can more accurately called ‘Clouds’. What do you think?

I’m not making this for anyone in particular but my Mom did stake her claim on it.

Meet Mr. Howie the Penguin:

This little guy is a Stacey Trocks of FreshStitches.com Design. I bought her Design a Monster course way back when there was a sale and just now scheduled it into my day to view it and hook it up. I’ve only watched 2 lessons so maybe I am a bit ahead because I got sidetracked when I saw this little one in the eBook provided to class participants.

I’m not going to rave about the class just yet because I have a review post coming up about that BUT it rocks!

In this first contribution I give tips on how to fine tune your target audience which will of course ‘Blog Your Competition Out of the Water’.
• A Very Moogly Christmas – 20 Christmas Holiday Craft Fair Patterns on Tamara’s blog MooglyBlog – July is the time to start thinking about your inventory for the holiday fair season. If this is your first craft fair you need to start interviewing past vendors and customers. This helps you plan your inventory and know what to expect.

Oh, I’m so excited about this little crochet camp that Kat Godin is hosting on her blog Slugs on the Refrigerator.

This is totally free and perfect for newbies and pro’s alike. I’m enjoying the lessons and the Facebook group is just fab. Lots of interactivity and everyone shares their projects – just like real camp.

The first project was a Cherries themed potholder.

I enjoyed sharing my projects with you – I thank you for sticking around to indulge me in my crochet addiction. I’ll post a regular teaching post tomorrow about guest blogging.
