Setting time aside each day to write will do your crochet blog wonders. Write and schedule blog posts for the days ahead or write up some guest posts to pitch to blogs you’d like to be featured on.
I attended a live webinar with blogger Danny Iny. He is known as the “Freddie Krouger” of blogging because you can find him online no matter where you go. He started guest blogging to bring traffic to his business and now he manages one of the best marketing programs online – Firepole Marketing.
Nicole Dean is another great blogger who used guest blogging to build up her website during a product launch. She did what she calls a ‘World Blog Tour’. She visited 15 blogs in 15 weeks featuring her content. She not only gave the blogs she visited content to publish but because she has affiliate programs for her products they were able to earn commissions from any sales made from her posts. Find out more about her world blog tour.
Here are 15 Blogs You Should Write For:
- Mrs.Greene – Blogs about all things crafts. She is an editor at Dollar Store Crafts and is an Etsy shop owner.
- The CSI Project – A fun blog that gives a craft challenge each week. If you take on the challenge you can submit your guest post.
- All Free Crochet – Submit a pattern link or a Crochet tip. You may also submit a detailed photo or video tutorial.
- Handmade Artists – This site has an active forum, blog and handmade shops. They feature regular guest bloggers as well as featured artists.
- Crochet Concupiscence – The “go to” place for all things crochet. Submit a request to guest blog. Check her current projects and themes for ideas on what to pitch.
- SusanD Crochet Addict CFS – Susan has a regular guest blogger each Saturday. If you write about crochet and she has a spot available you are almost always welcome to submit a pitch.
- Naptime Crafters – A lovely crafting blog that features regular tutorials. Pitch an idea and you just might be her next guest blogger.
- Handmadeology – If you are an Etsy shop owner this is a great place to learn. Tim is always accepting guest bloggers for topics that range from business tips, product promotion, marketing, blogging and crafting.
- Crochet Liberation Front – Laurie Wheeler, the Fearless Leader, loves featuring the crochet community. Pitch her an idea and you might be her next guest blogger. Check out her blog and read what other guest bloggers have written about to give you an idea of what she likes.
- WhipUp – Another great crafty blog that is high in traffic. This means if your post is featured you will most likely reap the benefits of her large traffic base. Check out her terms for guest bloggers and be sure to add great content to the site.
- Craftsy – We know Craftsy as a great place to find patterns but did you know they have a blog? Pitch an idea and you might be a featured guest blogger. If the topic is related to any workshops or classes they are promoting it might give you a better chance at being featured.
- Crochet with Cris – Cris’s blog is a great blog filled with lots of crochet tutorials and tips. She has a YouTube channel and is also a very charitable crafter. If you have a crochet charity project you might try pitching a guest post to Cris.
- JJ Crochet – Jayna loves to promote fellow crochet bloggers. In fact she’s created a whole program around it called Blogger Love. You fill out her form, she’ll send you a pattern and then you make it. Blog about it and post a picture. Yes, this is on your blog but Jayna also accepts guest bloggers as well. Pitch an idea you never know when someone might say yes.
Crafts for Kidlets– This is the blog I did an internship on back in 2010. I did a series of posts on teaching children to crochet. If you are into crafting for children you can guest post here. If you write content that is unique and unpublished elsewhere you could earn from $8 – $10 for your photo tutorial.- Social Moms – This is a great site filled with a number of topics that cater to moms. You can guest post here and earn points for rewards like Amazon gift cards or Paypal. Pitch your idea for August (school ideas) or September (fall ideas). Tutorials on Crafts and Recipes with photographs are in high demand.
