{UBC} Challenge Update

Blogging Challenge April 2013

Busy as a bee blogging about crochet since January 2013. I started the year off by hosting my 3rd challenge on this blog. In February and March I did a series of posts on craft shows and now in April I’m doing another blog challenge.

The Ultimate Blog challenge is one of the first I participated in. It is hosted by Michelle Shaeffer and Michelle Scism. If you have been following my blog you will know that I recommend Michelle Shaeffer for all things blogging.

You can find a re-cap of blog posts on my UBC page.

My Focus For This Challenge

The first week I featured a number of articles I wrote about crochet business and earning an income. For the second week I will be highlighting various projects I’m participating in to grow my crochet community. In week three I will highlight some of the great bloggers in the challenge and in the final week and one-half I will follow along with the writing prompts that Michelle gives.

Here’s the Challenging Part

Since this isn’t my first challenge I know that I need to prepare for these ahead of time. I pre-programmed 9 posts before the challenge even started. The part I have a problem keeping up with is the commenting and sharing or connecting with participants. I get in a ‘work’ mode and forget to connect.

I learned from the Biztopia challenge that it is important to connect with other participants. It is through that challenge that I pushed myself to ask for guest posts and interviews from bloggers who might be able to help you develop your business. (See Evelyn and Loralee)

Join In

Thinking of joining the challenge but don’t think you can come up with 31 posts? Don’t worry. Michelle gives you some tips in this post on how to come up with a months worth of posts. It’s a video and won’t take you more than 3-minutes to watch.

  1. I find I have to plan my days so that I have a little extra time on some days so that I can take that day to make new connections and revisit older ones. Today, for example, I am home all day so I’m taking a little extra time to check over the blogs I follow and the ones in the UBC to comment. I think it’s a case of remembering that commenting is part of the work too!

    • Petra, I do that as well. Today is my catch up day and prepare for the week day. Getting my ‘to do’ list are ready and making sure I have my son’s lessons prepared.
I’m super excited that you decided to do the challenge. I have another crochet blogger to journey with. :)
