Writing Prompt:
Why I Love Crochet enough to build a business around it? Set up analytics for this page to track traffic for the next 7 days. (promote this post actively) After seven days, return to the post and share your results.
This might be a little more advanced for some so you might just want to stick to analytics provided by your blog. (blogger or
wordpress)
What you are looking for is how many people visited your blog post, for how long, and what they did while visiting your site? (provide a call to action to track i.e. comment, click to sign up for RSS feed or newsletter)
My Goal:
- Make Sure You are receiving updates for this blog
What I want Readers to do:
- Read my post
- Sign up for Rss feed via Email and/or Sign up for Newsletter
I have a goal set up to track how many visitors view my page, how they got there, and whether they clicked to subscribe to the feed or the newsletter. (I’ll update this post in 7 days with the results)
Check out the resources below to find out more about anayltics for your blog. The last two links are about setting up goals in analytics. Don’t worry if this sounds like gibberish or even if you don’t see the point in all this. That’s okay.
Setting Up a Goal in Google Analytics
- admin
- click on account you want to use
- goals
- +goal (set up new goal)
- url destination (url of my post)
This step is optional. Once you have been blogging more and start to understand the ‘language’ you may come back to this – if not, you can hire someone to deal with it for you. {smiles}

Zamarah, I know – this last week has been long one for me. Thanks for sticking with me and can’t wait to read your post.
I decided to do a “Why I Love My Crochet Business” post instead of incorporating Day 28 into week 4. Click my name to access it. And I got Google Analytics working … Yay! So I’m going to go over there to see if I can set up tracking for the post.

Great, can’t wait to read it.
I want to do this. My question is how do you add google anayltics to wordpress?
Google Analytics to wordpress has a plug-in for that. Just go to plugins, add new, and then search ‘google anaylitics’ and check out the various ones available.
