Traffic and Google Analytics
Traffic is of course going to be the main way to earn money from your crochet blog. Without it you’re just a blog that only benefits you.
So how do you go about driving traffic to your blog?
10 Ways to Bring People To Your Blog
- Ads – graphic and text – utilize banner ads on complementary blogs, text ads in newsletters that cater to your market
- Commenting – comment on blogs, get to know people in your target market
- Referrals – one of the best way to get traffic is through personal referrals – Pinterest is a perfect example of this
- Signature – your signature in your email or forums is a perfect free advertisement for your blog
- Articles- article marketing is one of my favorite traffic generators. If you don’t feel comfortable writing hire a writer.
- Guest Blogging – offer to guest blog on blogs that cater to your target market. (the more the better)
- Partnerships – create partnerships with like businesses or complimentary businesses. For example, if you spin and dye yarn it will benefit you to partner with someone who designs patterns or crochets.
- Forums – another great way to get to know the community of crochet is by participating authentically in forums.
- Social Media – with so many avenues to choose from, you have many opportunities to share your expertise and blog with those you interact with.
- Video – an often unused marketing venue for bloggers but it is a very effective method of driving traffic to your blog.
Today’s Assignment:
Select the avenues you’ll use to drive traffic to your blog. Schedule these in your blog schedule and make them weekly habits. You will also check your Google Analytics for this challenge. How has it improved? Where do you need to make changes?
